Armidale & District Amateur Radio Club |
Variety Bash 2014 We were approached by the Variety Bash communications team to assist them with setting up their HF radio base in Armidale as it is half way between Brisbane & Sydney being the start & finish of this teams run for 2014. The plan was to set up in our club rooms and erect a field portable broadband antenna for HF outside. This done, we also offered the use of our 160m doublet for one of their HF frequencies. The team will be using our premises for 3 days and then leaving the station setup, they will hit the road and use their computers to remote in to their gear at ADARC for the following week and when the Bash is done, they'll return to rig it all down. ADARC was pleased to be able to assist this worthy charity in monitoring the safety of their participants.
